The Tang Dynasty was a Chinese imperial dynasty that ruled from 618 to 907. However, the Sui Dynasty was ultimately marked by internal conflict and a lack of stability, and it was succeeded by the Tang Dynasty in 618. The Sui Dynasty was also known for its military campaigns, particularly the conquest of the Chen Dynasty, which led to the reunification of China. The Sui Dynasty is notable for reuniting China under a single imperial rule after several centuries of political fragmentation, and for its role in the construction of the Grand Canal, which was a major engineering feat that linked the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers and facilitated trade and communication between northern and southern China.
